1920s Gatsby Flapper Inspired Makeup

Hi sugar plums!!

This tutorial is a classic take on the 1920's/Gatsby/Flapper makeup that is such a hot trend since the release of The Great Gatsby movie! I absolutely loved the film, the colour, the costumes, the flare! So I thought I would recreate a 1920s look for you all!!

This video is a collaboration with my gorgeous friend Lauren from EbonyMaizeMakeup here on Youtube, she is absolutely stunning, and truly talented with makeup!

Lauren has created a Gatsby style look, but with a modern twist!
Check out her links below to watch her recreation and please subscribe to her channel she is absolutely amazing!! Let her know I sent you :)

The soft smokey eye can be incorporated into every makeup wear, and I loved the way they used to fill out their lips and would be totally comfortable wearing it on an everyday basis! And of course, its PERFECT for a dress up party!

I hope you enjoy the video, check out the photos below to see close up pictures of the look!

MWAH!

I love the way the girls shaped their lips back in the 20s, it was very distinct and unique, with a large overdrawn cupids bow and angular points at the outer corners. I used concealer to white out the colour of my lips first, giving me a completely blank canvas for drawing on a totally new shape!

I mixed two of the Limecrime Velvetine's to create this deep plum lip. I used 'Wicked' & 'Black Velvet' from the new clueless witch collection. They are a liquid lipstick that dry to a beautiful velvet finish.
